Alphonsa College, Thiruvambady proudly celebrated the Graduation Ceremony of the 2023–2026 batch on 17 July 2026 at the College Auditorium. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduating students, bringing together graduates, parents, faculty members, and distinguished guests to celebrate their achievements.
The programme commenced with a prayer dance, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Shiju Ealias, Principal. The gathering was blessed with the presidential address by Rev. Fr. George Mundanattu, Finance Officer, Dioces of Thamarassery, and the inaugural address by Mar Remigiose Inchananiyil, Bishop of the Diocese of Thamarassery. The keynote Graduation Address was delivered by Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut, who inspired the graduates to pursue excellence with integrity, innovation, and social responsibility.
The highlight of the event was the Award Ceremony, during which the graduates of the 2023–2026 batch were honoured for successfully completing their academic programmes. Felicitations were offered by Rev. Fr. Antony George Karikunnel, Manager, Alphonsa College Thiruvambady, and Mr. Ebin Sunny, Chairman, College Union. Mr. Muhammed Jasim K. S., Graduate (Batch 2023–2026) shared heartfelt words of gratitude on behalf of the graduating students, while Ms. Deepa Dominic, Programme Convener, proposed the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the graduates with cherished memories and renewed confidence as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Academic Inauguration 2026 – IGNITE 2026
Alphonsa College, Thiruvambady formally inaugurated the academic year 2026–2027 through IGNITE 2026 – Academic Inauguration, held on 17 July 2026 at the College New Auditorium. The event marked the beginning of a new academic journey for the incoming batch, inspiring students to embrace learning, innovation, and personal growth.
The programme was graced by Rev. Fr. Abraham Vayalil, Vicar General, who inaugurated the academic year. Rev. Fr. Joseph Palakkattu, Director, ACT, delivered the presidential address, while Ms. Ambika Mangalath, Block Panchayat President, presented the keynote address, encouraging students to pursue excellence with dedication and social responsibility. Mr. Abin Michael, Social Media Influencer, attended the function as the Guest of Honour and motivated the students with his inspiring insights.

IGNITE 2026, the four-day Orientation Programme for First Year Students of Alphonsa College Thiruvambady, was conducted from 13 to 16 July 2026 at the New Auditorium, ACT, Thiruvambady, from 9.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. The programme was designed to help newly admitted students transition smoothly into college life by fostering teamwork, leadership, communication skills, and personal growth through interactive sessions led by eminent resource persons.
The programme commenced on 13 July 2026 with Dr. Sibin Antony M. Varghese, who delivered an inspiring session on "Synergy – Turning Individual Talents into Collective Genius," emphasizing the importance of collaboration and collective success. On 14 July 2026, Sayand P engaged students in an experiential session on "Group Cohesion Through Theatre Games and Introspection," using creative activities to strengthen interpersonal relationships and self-awareness. The third day's session, on 15 July 2026, was led by Bernad Jose, who focused on "Group Dynamics," enabling students to understand effective teamwork and communication. The programme concluded on 16 July 2026 with Fathimath Noora, whose session on "Navigating the Group Maze: Dynamics of Team Work" equipped students with practical strategies for building productive teams and managing group interactions.
Throughout the four days, students actively participated in discussions, activities, and collaborative exercises, creating a vibrant and engaging learning environment. IGNITE 2026 successfully laid a strong foundation for the academic journey of the first-year students by instilling confidence, promoting positive relationships, and encouraging active participation in campus life. The programme reflected Alphonsa College Thiruvambady's commitment to nurturing well-rounded, socially responsible, and future-ready graduates.

The PG Department of Psychology, Alphonsa College Thiruvambady, in collaboration with CAMP (Center for Advanced Mental Health Care and Psychotherapy) and Avila Minds Clinic, is organizing "Neuroverse 2026", an IQ Assessment and Psychology Exhibition on 14 July 2026 (Tuesday) from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM at Alphonsa College Thiruvambady.
The programme is designed to create awareness about mental health, cognitive abilities, and psychological well-being through interactive exhibits and professional assessments. Students, parents, and teachers are invited to participate and gain valuable insights into various aspects of psychology.
Participants can benefit from confidential IQ assessments, psychological tests, and counseling services, all provided free of cost by experienced professionals. A free consultation with an RCI-licensed Clinical Psychologist will also be available. Please note that the assessments are intended for guidance and awareness purposes only and do not constitute a medical diagnosis.

The inaugural issue of Palimpsest: Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies, published by Alphonsa College, Thiruvambady, was officially released on 5 June 2026 at the seminar hall. The programme was organised under the auspices of the Research Cell as part of the institution’s ongoing efforts to promote research and academic excellence. The event commenced with a prayer, followed by a welcome address and an introduction to the journal by Ms. Anu Antony, Coordinator of the Research Cell. The inaugural issue was formally released by Rev. Fr. George Mundanattu, Finance Officer of the Diocese of Thamarassery. The first copy of the journal was presented by Dr. Jobi Babu, Assistant Professor, Marian College, Kuttikkanam, who also launched the official website of the journal. In his address, Rev. Fr. George Mundanattu appreciated the initiative of Alphonsa College in establishing a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal and emphasized the importance of scholarly publishing in higher education. Felicitations were offered by Dr. Shiju Ealias, Principal of Alphonsa College and Chief Editor of Palimpsest; Rev. Fr. Antony Karikunnel, Manager of the College; and Dr.james Paul, Issue editor of the journal. Rev. Dr. Fr. Geo Mathew, Assistant Professor and Consilius of Palimpsest, delivered the vote of thanks. Palimpsest is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal published by Alphonsa College, Thiruvambady, with the objective of providing a platform for researchers and academicians to disseminate original research and engage in interdisciplinary scholarly dialogue. The launch of the journal reflects the institution’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant research culture and encouraging academic innovation. The event received coverage in regional media, highlighting its significance in the academic and research landscape. The successful release of the inaugural issue stands as a testimony to the collective efforts of the Management, Research Cell, Editorial Board, reviewers,contributors, and faculty members who worked together to realize this academic initiative.
