The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector public service program run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Operating under the motto "Not Me But You," it helps students develop civic responsibility and personality through community-based volunteer work.

Eligibility: Open to students in 11th and 12th grades (+2 board level) as well as college/university students.

 Time Commitment: Volunteers are generally required to dedicate 120 hours to regular community service activities per academic year.

Special Camps: Volunteers also participate in 7-day special residential camps focused on specific developmental themes, adopting particular villages or slums to work closely with residents.
